Reasoning Model
A newer type of AI designed to "think" through complex problems step-by-step before blurting out an answer.
In Plain English
Standard AI models act like a contestant on a game show, buzzing in instantly with the first answer that comes to mind. Reasoning models are programmed to pause and write out a hidden scratchpad of logical steps. They double-check their own math and logic before showing you the final result. This makes them much better at advanced math, coding, and science puzzles.
Real-World Example
An AI taking 15 seconds to solve a complex algebra equation by silently working through the formula step-by-step.
