Zero-Shot Learning

LOW fear Creator
When an AI successfully performs a task it has never explicitly been trained or given an example to do.

In Plain English

Zero-shot learning shows off how adaptable modern AI is. In the past, if you wanted an AI to translate French to English, you had to show it thousands of French-English examples. Today's models understand language so well that you can just ask them to translate a completely new language without giving them any examples in the prompt. The AI figures it out on the fly.

Real-World Example

Asking an AI to write a poem in the style of a pirate, and it succeeds even though you did not provide any examples of pirate poetry.
